What is web technologies and how does it works?
Web 1.0
Whenever we
talk about web we are actually talking about internet right because of this
internet you know there are many giant companies who are able to become very
much popular you know who are earning amazing revenues
Who are able
to sell their entire business to the common population right out there now if
we talk about internet let’s go back somewhere around 20 years back somewhere
between 1994 to 2004 so in this 10 years what was there and since we are
discussing about web 3.0 we also know about web1.0 web 2.0 and web 3.0
If we go
somewhere around in this era where is that is between 1994 to 2004 there in
1994 internet became really much popular right now this was the time you know
where you will be able to see that there were many many websites so many
companies started building their websites and the main purpose of those
particular websites is showcase their business to the entire population around
the world so because of this websites became really popular there where
developers who are getting hired they should build their websites and they used
to put that entire website in the world wide web you know in www where any
person can actually access that particular website and see the content that is
present in the website. So in 1994 to 2004 if we talk about this particular
area this era was all about 1.0 it was very much popular with respect to web1,0
we used to call this era as web 1.0 here definitely many companies came up with
the websites it was pretty much popular many people could see their website see
what kind of business they were actually doing .
Now inside this web point 1.0 you’ll be able to see a simple server will be there and a client will be there so client will be able to access this particular server and get that particular entire website information. During this period in 1994 to 2004 you know most of the websites were stagnant it was not dynamic there was content it was static websites. in static websites we will be able only to read the content that basically means access the information from that particular website itself and know about the business know about that specific company know about any kind of things that we are probably reading from them.
web 2.0
right then came the next era that is between 2004 to 2021. This is the era which
is all about web 2.0
As soon as web 2.0 came with the launch of various social networking websites like Facebook and later on we saw many websites many YouTube videos also in YouTube channel Google and watsapp now in this web 2.0 these all websites were dynamic websites so in dynamic websites users were just not accessing the content for example an amazon website now in amazon a user can basically login then they’ll be able to use various services they’ll be able to buy products they’ll be able to similarly there are smaller companies will be able to sell their products and they’ll be able to do a lot of things. Similarly YouTube in YouTube many people are able to upload videos and this is how they are able to even earn through ad revenues they are able to do multiple things from this. Now in all this kind of dynamic websites your user information is also getting saved your personal information like your photos in instagram your photos in Facebook your videos in YouTube that is getting uploaded over there. If we talk about web 2.0 it is about two things one is read plus write what does this basically mean you are able to access content you are able to see the content also you are able to write content also its basically means uploading the images uploading videos different things you are able to login into the amazon dot in website and doing different jobs. So in web 2.0 they are having a centralized server these big companies like Facebook Google YouTube they are all having a centralized server and in this server your entire information is getting saved and these companies earning money through ad revenues they are using your personal information anyhow we may not know that how they probably be using in some different ways different kinds of techniques they may be using and they may be selling their specific products to you and in this particular case we may take an example of ads if we talk about dotting you know the information that you are putting the browsing information that you probably the amazon.com website is getting is tracking based on that is also recommending your specific products so in short the web 2.0 everything if we talk about these giant companies they are having a centralized servers and inside the centralized servers they are basically saving your information and based on that they are trying to sell their products most of the services you should also be noting one that one thing down that most are the services are free but one important thing that you should be noting down here is that you don’t know that how your personal information is basically getting used this is the most important thing in web 2.0 and because of this you know they were a lot of cases that have come up with respect to privacy.
Web 3.0
Why it is
very much popular and why it may be the future?
This is
completely related to block chain because why web 3.0 solves this problem
because there is no concept of centralized you will be having a decentralized
network like block chain to save your entire information let it be a personal
information and all so you will be having a centralized decentralized network
before in web 2.0 you have a centralized network where in a big giant is
basically solve is saving all your information in their server and may be
utilizing in selling their products through different ways in web 3.0 because
of blockchain technology now instead of decentralized network you will be saving your information in decentralized
network. In block chin network you will basically have a peer to peer network
your entire information related to internet will just not be stored in one
central network that is the most important property in block chain it seems
like nods nods may be a person may be a company it may be an entity it can be
anybody who are actually saving those information in their personal devices and
in their computers it can be anything as
such now because of the decentralized
network at least they can’t use directly your information unless and until you
have given permission for that so this is how the web 3.0 can really bring a
lot of changes and really it can help in terms of privacy. Apart from this on
top of it if someone has to use that specific data they may have to take your
permission to do that specific thing.
What is the
main advantage over here in web 3.0 is that here you at least know how
your data is going to get used this is
very much important that how your personal data is going to be used.
